Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country is prepared to face any ground invasion that the United States may launch, emphasizing that Tehran is not currently seeking a ceasefire and sees no point in entering negotiations with Washington in light of recent developments.
Araghchi explained in an interview with NBC News on Thursday that the attack on Iran during the negotiation period has led to a loss of trust in any future talks with the United States, adding that Tehran sees no reason to resume dialogue after what he described as the American attack during the negotiation process.
The Iranian Foreign Minister indicated that his country does not intend at this time to close the Strait of Hormuz, but clarified that all options may be on the table if the war and military escalation in the region continue.
Araghchi also confirmed that he has not had any contact with American officials Steve Mnuchin or Jared Kushner since last week, stressing that there are currently no ongoing backchannel communications between the two sides.
