Iran has once again issued a strong warning to Israel, asserting that it will respond forcefully with more advanced weapons if Tel Aviv carries out any new attacks against its territory.
Iranian Defense Minister Major General Aziz Nasirzadeh stated in press remarks today, Wednesday, that "any new adventure by the enemy will be met with an immediate response using an advanced generation of missiles that cannot be compared to those used previously."
Nasirzadeh explained that the missiles used during the recent 12-day war were produced by the Iranian Ministry of Defense several years ago, noting that his country today possesses a more advanced arsenal in terms of accuracy, range, and destructive capability.
He added: "The current missiles surpass the previous systems, and we will defend our sovereignty without hesitation."
This statement comes after an unprecedented war that broke out on June 13, when Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iranian territory that lasted 12 days, targeting military sites and nuclear and civilian facilities.
Israeli forces also assassinated several prominent Iranian military leaders and scientists involved in the nuclear program.
Tehran responded to the attack with a series of ballistic missile strikes targeting Israeli military and intelligence sites.
Tensions escalated significantly when the United States entered the confrontation on June 22, launching airstrikes targeting vital Iranian nuclear facilities, and later announced that it had succeeded in completely destroying Iran's nuclear capabilities.
In a provocative move, Iran retaliated by bombing the U.S. base at Al-Udeid in Qatar, prompting Washington to announce a ceasefire on June 24, which ended the direct military confrontation between Tehran and Tel Aviv, but tensions remain high amid mutual warnings and open possibilities for any new escalation.
