Investigation: Secret Funds and Foreign Financing Behind Anti-Trump Plan Protests in the U.S. Capital

Investigative reports have revealed significant funding provided by leftist organizations, including institutions backed by billionaire George Soros, to groups organizing protests against U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to enhance security in the capital, Washington, D.C.

According to the American "New York Post", these organizations allocated more than $20 million to support protest activities, including a demonstration organized by the group "Free DC" _affiliated with the organizations "Community Change" and "Community Change Action"_ where about 150 protesters gathered near the White House, holding slogans such as "Do not comply in advance", opposing Trump's plan to deploy the National Guard and delegate the D.C. police authority to federal authorities.

The newspaper noted that protesters were urged to "come out at 8 PM and bang pots and pans, or sing, or chant, or make noise for five minutes" daily "during this occupation", and "Free DC" announced upcoming events, including "police monitoring training", indicating the continuation of protest movements.

A financial analysis conducted by the "New York Post" based on records from the organization "Americans for Public Trust" revealed that the organizations "Community Change" and "Community Change Action" received massive funding from institutions linked to George Soros and leftist funding networks. In 2023 alone, funds from "Open Society Foundations" (affiliated with Soros) amounted to $4 million, in addition to $680,000 from the "Arabella Advisors" network, and $145,000 from "Tides Foundation".

Between 2020 and 2023, total funding exceeded $20 million, with the two organizations receiving $12.6 million from Soros, $5.6 million from "Arabella", and $1.9 million from "Tides", under the category of funding activities such as "civil rights" and "social activities".

Caitlin Sutherland, the executive director of "Americans for Public Trust", commented: "Ironically, a protest ostensibly aimed at liberating the capital was hosted by the organization 'Community Change', a group that receives massive funding from secret foreign money to push a pro-crime agenda".

Sutherland added: "Washington is facing incidents of gunfire, car thefts, and assaults, yet progressive groups like 'The Pritzker Foundation' and George Soros and the 'Arabella' network spend millions of dollars to organize protests that weaken our communities".

It is noteworthy that "Arabella Advisors", a consulting firm based in Washington, manages several funds that support leftist groups, such as "Sixteen Thirty Fund" and "Windward Fund" and "New Venture Fund". "Community Change" also received $1 million in 2021 and 2022 from the political committee "Future Forward USA Action", which supported Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 elections.

This comes at a time when Trump is seeking to make Washington "the safest, cleanest, and most beautiful city in the world" through measures that include expanding law enforcement powers and removing homeless encampments, while his plan faces opposition from activists who see it as "an infringement on local freedoms".
