Internal Security Seizes Weapons and Ammunition in a Special Operation in the Countryside of Baniyas

An security source told the Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel today, Monday, that the internal security forces in the city of Baniyas carried out a precise security operation targeting the forests and wooded areas surrounding the city and the neighboring villages in the countryside of Tartus, resulting in the seizure of quantities of weapons and ammunition that were hidden in hard-to-reach locations.

The source explained that the operation came after accurate intelligence information and aims to enhance security and stability in the region, and to prevent the use of those areas as a refuge for storing or smuggling weapons.

He confirmed that the relevant authorities continue investigations to identify the parties linked to these violations, amid heightened security at the entrances and exits of the wooded areas.
