The head of internal security in Latakia province, Major General Abdul Aziz Al-Ahmad, announced on Thursday that internal security units, in cooperation with the Anti-Terrorism Branch, carried out a precise security operation that resulted in the arrest of Samer Adib Imran, who hails from the town of Ain Al-Baida in northern Latakia.
Al-Ahmad clarified that Imran, who previously held the position of head of the military security detachment in Daraa during the fallen regime, is involved in serious violations against civilians, including assassination, kidnapping, extortion, and enforced disappearance.
He added that investigations revealed his leadership role in organizing and managing extensive criminal networks, which included drug trafficking, gathering information and espionage, in addition to his direct involvement in the liquidation of activists, revolutionaries, and their families.
