Prince Mohammed bin Salman chairs the Gulf consultative summit in Jeddah to discuss security and economic issues

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Gulf consultative summit for leaders and heads of delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, which was held today in Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia, as part of efforts to enhance joint Gulf action and integration and coordination among member states.

Discussion of regional and international issues and coordination of common Gulf positions

The summit discussed several topics and issues related to recent regional and international developments and ways to coordinate Gulf efforts towards them, aiming to enhance stability and security in the region.

The deliberations also focused on the necessity for any solutions or treatments for the current crisis to consider the interests of the GCC member states, ensuring the enhancement of their security and stability at both regional and international levels.

Enhancing joint Gulf action and developing a unified strategy for crisis management

The summit was convened under a highly delicate regional circumstance, where recent developments have shown significant shifts in the regional security system, prompting the emphasis on the importance of enhancing joint Gulf cooperation.

The summit called for the development of a comprehensive Gulf strategy for crisis management, based on learning from the current phase and its challenges, contributing to increasing the readiness of GCC member states to face changes.

Emphasis on continued consultation and coordination to protect regional security and stability

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed the continuation of intensive consultation and coordination among the countries in the region, ensuring continuous monitoring of regional and international developments and evaluating updates as they occur.

It stressed the importance of formulating common positions among Gulf states and taking necessary legal measures and actions aimed at protecting the security and stability of the GCC member states.

Condemnation of Iranian attacks and affirmation of navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz

Riyadh expressed its strong condemnation of what it described as Iranian attacks on the Kingdom and GCC member states, affirming its rejection of any practices that threaten the security and stability of the region.

The Kingdom also condemned Iran's insistence on destabilizing the region and violating international charters and law, in addition to threatening international peace and security, according to what was reported by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In this context, the importance of navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz emerged as a collective priority for the countries in the region, amid current security developments.

Conclusion: The Gulf summit in Jeddah affirms the direction towards broader regional coordination

The Gulf consultative summit in Jeddah is part of ongoing efforts to enhance joint Gulf action and unify visions towards security and economic challenges, thereby enhancing regional stability and supporting the establishment of a unified Gulf position in facing rapid developments.
