The German Federal Council approved a law today, Friday, suspending family reunification for two years for beneficiaries of subsidiary protection.

The family reunification suspension includes first-degree family members even if applications have been submitted in advance.

The new law also reaffirms the goal of reducing illegal migration to Germany.
