France.. Train driver killed and 27 passengers injured after collision with truck in the north of the country

French media reported today, Tuesday, that a high-speed train derailed after colliding with a truck in northern France, resulting in the death of the train driver and injuries to 27 passengers.

The accident occurred at a railway crossing in the town of Noisy-le-Mine, outside the high-speed train network, while the train was traveling at normal speed.

French Transport Minister Philippe Tabaro stated that he will head to the accident site between the towns of Béthune and Lens in the Pas-de-Calais region, accompanied by railway chief Jean Castex, to assess the situation and follow up on rescue operations.

TF1 reported that the accident resulted in the death of the train driver, while 27 passengers sustained varying injuries. Police confirmed that the train was not traveling at high speed, which helped limit the extent of the disaster.

Emergency and rescue teams rushed to the accident site to transport the injured to hospitals and provide first aid, while authorities began an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident and assign responsibilities.
