France announces its recognition of the State of Palestine and calls for stability in Gaza through an international force

In official statements to "Al Jazeera" today, Wednesday, the spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Paris has recognized the State of Palestine alongside a number of countries that adopted the New York Declaration, in a move that reflects a significant diplomatic shift regarding the Palestinian issue.

The spokesperson noted that the countries that signed the declaration propose the formation of an international force in the Gaza Strip aimed at enhancing stability, amid the ongoing tensions in the region.

He also emphasized that each country has its own motives for making the recognition decision, and that France will continue to work in line with its vision for a two-state solution and achieving just peace.

In another context, the French Foreign Ministry reiterated its stance against Iran possessing nuclear weapons, confirming that this principle has been clear and consistent in its foreign policy.
