FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on Tuesday before a judicial committee in the U.S. Senate that there is no "reliable information" in the court files indicating that financier Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sexual crimes, provided underage girls to other individuals.
Patel stated: "There is no reliable information, nothing at all. If there were information, I would have filed a lawsuit yesterday that he trafficked girls for others."
Patel's remarks came after the investigation into the Epstein case was closed. Epstein died in a jail cell in New York in 2019 while awaiting trial. Some supporters of President Donald Trump have followed the case for years, believing that the elites of the "deep state" were protecting Epstein's alleged partners in the Democratic Party and Hollywood.
Patel also noted that the investigation continues with some individuals linked to an online gaming room frequented by Tyler Robinson, who is accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, confirming that there are individuals under investigation who have not yet been questioned, and others may be involved.
The FBI Director faced criticism from Democrats for firing dozens of agents who were previously involved in criminal cases related to Trump or were considered disloyal to the Republican president.
