In a new development reflecting the rising internal tension in Israel, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported today, Tuesday, that the police removed the families of the hostages who were planning to spend the night outside the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, protesting what they described as the government's negligence regarding the file of hostages held in Gaza.
The families had organized a march from the Knesset to Netanyahu's residence, in what they called "Disruption Day," demanding the government engage in serious negotiations for the release of 48 hostages still held by Palestinian factions.
The protests witnessed temporary closures of major roads, amid rising public anger over the ongoing military operations that threaten the lives of the captives.
