Families of Israeli Prisoners: We are living in "critical days" and call for a sit-in in Tel Aviv to demand an end to the war

The Israeli Prisoners' Families Committee called for a sit-in this evening in the Kidnapped Persons Square in Tel Aviv, marking the second anniversary of the October 7 attack, to demand an end to the war and the release of all prisoners.
The committee's statement said: "We invite all Israeli citizens to join us tonight in the Kidnapped Persons Square, in these decisive moments. We are going through critical days to reach an agreement — days that will determine the date for the return of the living captives for rehabilitation, and the proper burial of the dead."
The committee added that this time requires the entire Israeli people to stand side by side, with one voice, to demand all efforts be made to bring back the prisoners, emphasizing that the sit-in square will be the place from which a unified message can be conveyed:
> "Bring everyone back, and stop the war! We will not stop until the last captive returns."
This popular movement comes at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a halt to actual fighting in Gaza, in preparation for the implementation of the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan for the release of prisoners.
Netanyahu's office confirmed that Israel is working in full coordination with the U.S. administration to implement the plan "in line with the principles set by Israel and President Trump's vision."
In contrast, Hamas announced on Friday evening that it had delivered its official response to the mediators regarding Trump's plan to stop the war, confirming its agreement to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independent technocrats with Arab and Islamic support.
For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Hamas has shown readiness for "permanent peace," calling on Israel to stop the bombing of Gaza immediately.
