Egypt: Gaza is for Palestinians Alone.. and the Devil is in the Details of Trump's Plan

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti confirmed that the Egyptian stance on Gaza is firm and clear, consisting of an immediate halt to the war and ending what he described as "daily genocide" against the Palestinians, emphasizing that the administration of the sector is a purely Palestinian matter.
In television statements, Abdel Atti explained that the proposed plan calls for the formation of a Palestinian committee to temporarily manage Gaza, with support from an international mission, until the Palestinian Authority can assume full responsibility and unify the sector with the West Bank in preparation for the establishment of the Palestinian state.
The minister pointed out that the members of this committee will be technocrats and not from the factions, which means the absence of any direct role for Hamas during the transitional phase, affirming that the fate of the movement is determined by the Palestinian people themselves.
Abdel Atti described Trump's plan as containing positive elements such as stopping the war, rejecting the annexation of the West Bank, refusing to displace Palestinians, and calling for the unification of Palestinian lands, but he stressed that "the devil is in the details," and that some provisions need in-depth discussion, especially regarding implementation mechanisms.
Regarding the displacement issue, the minister reiterated Egypt's firm rejection of any attempt to remove Palestinians from their land, describing it as a "complete crime" that neither Arabs nor the free world can accept.
He also confirmed that the Rafah crossing is open from the Egyptian side around the clock to allow for the entry of aid, but the problem lies in the Israeli restrictions on the Palestinian side, noting that there are five other crossings under Israeli control, which bears the legal responsibility for bringing humanitarian supplies into the sector.
