Domestic Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia: Ministry of Health Recommends Vaccinations Before Performing Rituals

The Saudi Ministry of Health has called on all those wishing to perform the Hajj rituals for 2026 from within the Kingdom to take the initiative to protect themselves by receiving the necessary health vaccinations, to ensure a safe and healthy Hajj season, and to be able to perform the rituals comfortably and safely.
The ministry confirmed that the meningococcal vaccine is mandatory for all pilgrims and healthcare practitioners, especially for those who have not received the vaccine in the past five years.
Pilgrims can check their vaccination status via the "Sehaty" app to ensure compliance with official health procedures.
The Saudi health authorities also recommended obtaining the seasonal flu vaccine, provided it has not been taken before September 1, 2025, in addition to the COVID-19 vaccine, which should not have been taken before January 1, 2025.
The ministry emphasized the necessity of booking vaccination appointments through the "Sehaty" app at adult vaccination clinics, in a step aimed at enhancing preventive health, protecting pilgrims and healthcare practitioners, and ensuring their safety while performing the rituals.
The ministry stated that these measures align with the national preventive health strategy, to provide a healthy and safe Hajj season, protecting pilgrims from infectious diseases and allowing them to perform their rituals with confidence and reassurance.
