Four individuals from the same family were killed today, Saturday, due to an explosion of a war remnant mine inside their home in Al-Areema area, west of Manbij city in rural Aleppo.

The Civil Defense teams mentioned that the victims entered their home before the mine exploded, resulting in the death of all of them, with no other injuries reported.

International warnings of the danger of mines in Syria
The British "Halo Trust" organization specializing in mine clearance warned that hundreds of thousands of Syrians returning to their homes after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime are exposed to severe danger due to the spread of mines and unexploded ordnance.

Alarming statistics
In 2025, mines caused the death of 181 civilians in Syria, shedding light on the ongoing security challenges in the country.
