A leadership source in the Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip reported on Sunday evening that there were casualties among security forces due to an attack carried out by an armed militia inside the city of Gaza.

The source explained that the security forces quickly surrounded the armed group within the city and are currently dealing with them to apprehend its members and end the tension.

He added that the militia had killed several displaced persons while they were returning from the south of the strip to the city of Gaza, in an incident described as serious and complicating the humanitarian and security situations.

The source confirmed that the security forces are "determined to impose order and hold accountable those involved in the killings," stressing that any attempts to destabilize will be met with firmness.
