Israeli Channel 15: Mechanism for Selecting 1700 Prisoners from Gaza in the Exchange Deal

Israeli Channel 15 reported on Sunday that the ongoing understandings between Israel and Hamas regarding the prisoner exchange deal include a mechanism for selecting the names of 1700 prisoners from Gaza who were detained after October 7, 2023.

According to the channel, Israel will select the names of 850 prisoners, while Hamas will choose the names of another 850 from the same category, to be released as part of the phases of implementing the agreement related to the ceasefire.

This development comes as part of international efforts aimed at stabilizing the truce and preparing for the upcoming international summit in Sharm El Sheikh, amid Palestinian and Israeli anticipation for the implementation of the deal in the coming days.
