Beijing has firmly rejected Washington's decision to include Chinese companies on sanctions lists, claiming they are cooperating with Iran.
It considers this step to be part of what it describes as "unjustified political maneuvers".
Beijing Accuses Washington of Using Economic Pressure
The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that the United States uses sanctions as a tool of pressure against countries and companies around the world.
China urged Washington to stop what it described as a policy of "unilateral economic pressure".
Chinese Demands for Investigation into Hacking Allegations
China has demanded that the United States investigate allegations regarding hacking of American institutions by Chinese entities.
It also warned against other countries engaging in supporting U.S. policies against it.
U.S. Sanctions Targeting Oil and Shipping Companies
Washington had imposed sanctions on Chinese companies, including a major oil refinery, due to allegations of purchasing Iranian oil.
The sanctions also included companies and ships that the United States describes as part of the "Iranian shadow fleet".
Chinese Denial of U.S. Allegations
The targeted Chinese companies denied any business dealings with Iran.
They confirmed their compliance with international laws and standards, and consider the U.S. allegations to be inaccurate.
