Baniyas Refinery Implements a Technical Project to Replace Gasoline Reformers and Increase Productivity

The Baniyas Refinery Company in Tartus Governorate began today, Saturday, the implementation of a technical project considered one of the largest modernization projects in the history of the refinery. It aims to replace the bodies of the four gasoline reformers R1, R2, R3, and R4 within the reforming unit, in addition to replacing the internal components of the first and second reformers after exceeding their specified operational lifespan.

This project is expected to contribute to:
- Ensuring safe and stable operation of the reforming unit
- A relative increase in the load of the section
- Increasing gasoline productivity to meet local market needs

- Improving the quality of final petroleum products

Work is also being carried out in parallel to replace the furnaces' seals in the reforming unit, which enhances operational efficiency and contributes to the development of the refinery's infrastructure, as confirmed by the Syrian Ministry of Energy.

This project comes as part of a national plan to modernize vital facilities in the energy sector, ensuring the continuity of production and improving the quality of petroleum derivatives, amid operational and technical challenges faced by Syrian refineries for years.
