Australian Wakes Up to a Two-and-a-Half-Meter Snake in Her Bed

Rachel Blore woke up late on Monday night to a shocking surprise she never expected when she felt an unexpected weight pressing on her chest.
At first, she thought it was her dog, but she quickly realized that what she was touching was something smooth moving … a huge python, measuring two and a half meters, sprawled across her body.
According to ABC and BBC radio, the first thing that crossed Blore's mind was to protect her dogs from the situation, fearing they might attack the snake and lead to disaster.
Her husband calmly managed to get the pets out of the room, after which the more dangerous phase began: getting out of bed without startling the snake.
Blore said she moved very slowly, carefully sliding under the covers to safely distance herself from it, while part of the snake's tail remained outside a window it likely entered through.
After a few minutes of tension, the snake left the bedroom and headed to the backyard without anyone getting hurt.
The Sunshine Coast Snake Rescue Association indicates that what is known as the carpet python is a common species in Queensland, which is non-venomous, but can become dangerous if mishandled, especially with its young or when it stretches to large lengths.
Despite her husband's obvious tension, Rachel remained calm, stating: "I think if you stay calm, the snake will stay calm too."
