Assassination of a leader in the Internal Security Forces in an armed ambush in northern Daraa countryside.

Senior leader in the Internal Security Forces, Ali Al-Sabah Al-Majareesh, known as "Jaljat," was killed this morning, Saturday, June 14, in an armed ambush carried out by unknown assailants on the outskirts of the town of Mahjeh in the northern countryside of Daraa, while another person accompanying him was injured, according to local sources.
Sources reported that Al-Majareesh, who works at the Mahjeh police station, was subjected to heavy gunfire by gunmen riding three motorcycles while trying to assist a car driver who had an accident near the town's bridge.
The data confirmed that "the incident was deliberately staged to lure him to the location," where a hail of bullets was fired at him, leading to his immediate death, while the attackers fled the scene.
This incident is part of a dangerous security escalation witnessed in Daraa province since the beginning of June, as the province has seen a series of assassinations and targeting of security personnel, civilians, and activists, resulting in the death and injury of more than 10 people in just one week, amid extensive security alertness in the region.
