Governor of Idlib, Mohammad Abdul Rahman, announced today, Saturday, the start of work on establishing a free zone east of Idlib city at the intersection of international roads, after determining its location in coordination with the President of the General Authority for Land and Maritime Ports, Mr. Qutaiba Badawi. In a statement published by the province's channel on Telegram, the governor explained that this project comes within the province's continuous support to stimulate the local economy and encourage investment in Idlib province. Abdul Rahman stated, "This project is one of the important strategic projects, through which we aspire to create a stimulating investment environment, revitalize economic activity in the region, and provide a large number of job opportunities for our people." He mentioned that an agreement was reached with the President of the General Authority for Land and Maritime Ports to start the necessary procedures to establish a second free zone dedicated to car exhibitions and trade, with the aim of organizing this vital sector and expanding it to serve the interests of citizens and traders alike. The province reaffirmed its full commitment to supporting all initiatives and projects that contribute to enhancing economic stability and opening up new horizons for development in Idlib province. The President of the General Authority for Land and Maritime Ports visited Idlib province, discussed with the governor the overall vision of the free zone project, the action plan to start its implementation, which is one of the main pillars to support the local economy, provide job opportunities, and stimulate investment.
