British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told journalists today, Saturday, before heading to a meeting of the G7 countries in Canada, that Britain is transferring additional military assets, including fighter jets, to the Middle East to provide emergency support in the region. Starmer added: "We are transferring assets to the region, including fighter jets, to provide support in emergency situations in the area." Starmer's announcement comes amid ongoing military escalation between Israel and Iran since early Friday. Israel launched a wide-ranging aerial attack on Iran early Friday, targeting nuclear facilities and military sites, including the "Natanz" facility and Revolutionary Guard headquarters in Tehran and Isfahan, resulting in the killing of the overall commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Qasem Soleimani, Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, and a number of nuclear scientists.
