An bride in the Old Cairo area was subjected to a horrific assault days before her wedding, as a woman disfigured her face using a sharp object after learning about her ex-husband's remarriage.

The incident occurred in one of the streets in Cairo when the accused surprised the victim and brandished a knife at her face, resulting in serious injuries that required stitching her wounds with 41 stitches. The assailant left her bleeding in the street before fleeing.

The bride, who was preparing for her wedding, said that the attack was completely unexpected, adding:
"I fell to the ground, bleeding, and the pain was unbearable. I couldn't believe what happened to me while I was getting ready for my big day."

The bride, known as "Mansoura," continued: "My life changed completely in an instant; what was supposed to be a wedding turned into pain and disfigurement that may accompany me for the rest of my life."

The security forces in the Cairo Security Directorate managed to arrest the perpetrator shortly after the incident.
Upon confrontation, the accused confessed to the details of the assault and stated her motives for revenge against the bride due to her ex-husband's announcement of his marriage.

The authorities have initiated investigations into the incident, and a report has been filed regarding the accident, while investigations continue to determine the legal responsibilities of the accused.

In the meantime, the bride has called on the authorities to assist her with treatment and cosmetic surgery to erase the scars that disfigured her face, confirming her suffering from difficult economic conditions that make treatment extremely challenging.
