America Warns Iran: Killing Protesters Will Have Severe Consequences

The White House issued a stern warning to Iran, with President Donald Trump stating that the continued killing of protesters will have "severe consequences," in a message that comes amid escalating international tensions over the suppression of protests in Iran.
The White House added that Trump announced a suspension of 800 executions in Iran, emphasizing that all options remain on the table in dealing with the Iranian issue, indicating that Washington has not ruled out any future steps.
In striking remarks during a call with NBC News, Trump said:
"We saved a lot of lives yesterday," referring to his claims that the Iranian regime halted the killing of protesters and stopped some executions that he had previously warned could lead the United States to military action.
However, he refrained from confirming whether he had made a decision to intervene against Iran, simply stating: "I won't tell you that."
The American president has repeatedly stated that he might intervene to help the protesters if the killings continue, although he recently indicated that "the killing of protesters has decreased," signaling a softening of his tone and a reduction in the direct military threat.
In contrast, Iranian officials warned that any attack on their country would face a firm response, including targeting Israel and U.S. military bases in the region, complicating the regional landscape further.
This move comes amid the United States announcing sanctions on Larijani and others in connection with the suppression of protests, a step considered part of Washington's ongoing pressure on Tehran to curb the use of violence against civilians.
