Al-Eryani: The Houthis Are Not a National Force but an Iranian Arm in Yemen

Minister of Information in Yemen Muammar Al-Eryani confirmed that the announcement by the Houthi group pledging allegiance to Mojtaba Khamenei as the leader of Iran exposes the true nature of the group, showing that they do not represent any local Yemeni project, but rather act as an armed arm following the Iranian agenda and seeking to enhance its regional influence.
Al-Eryani stated in a post on the "X" platform that this allegiance has dismantled all narratives that attempted to portray the Houthis as a local force or an independent Yemeni political actor, affirming that they are executing the directives of Iranian leadership within a transnational regional project.
He added that the events in Yemen are not merely a coup against the state, but a direct extension of an Iranian project aimed at undermining national states and threatening regional security and international interests.
Al-Eryani's statements came after Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi group, congratulated the Iranian people and the Revolutionary Guard on the occasion of the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new leader of Iran, succeeding his father Ali Khamenei, who was killed in an American-Israeli raid on February 28 last.
Al-Houthi noted in his statement that the selection of Khamenei "strengthens the pillars of the Islamic revolution and the regime in Iran," calling for support for the Iranian people and its military institutions, affirming the group's continued loyalty to Iranian leadership.
