After the vote of the U.S. Senate.. Al-Madhhan: The repeal of the 'Caesar Law' marks the beginning of a new era for Syria

Syrian activist Fareed Al-Madhhan (known as 'Caesar') announced a historic advancement in the international stance towards Syria, following the overwhelming majority vote in the U.S. Senate in favor of repealing the Caesar Law as part of the 2026 Department of Defense budget proposal.
Al-Madhhan expressed his deep gratitude for this decision, considering it a "historic achievement that paves the way for a new phase of national recovery and economic prosperity in Syria."
Al-Madhhan revealed in a post on the 'X' platform the upcoming stages of the project, explaining that it "will later be referred to the U.S. House of Representatives for discussion and voting before the end of the year, paving the way for it to be sent to President Donald Trump for ratification and implementation."
Al-Madhhan confirmed that this step represents a "fundamental shift in the international stance towards the Syrian people," noting that it comes as a culmination of exceptional efforts made by the "unknown soldiers" from the Syrian community in the United States.
He extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Syrian-American organizations that worked tirelessly for months to achieve this accomplishment, saying: "They spared no effort or money for the recovery and prosperity of our beloved homeland, Syria."
He also expressed his deep appreciation for the members of the U.S. Senate, with a special focus on Senator Roger, the Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, who played - as he put it - a "pivotal role in pushing for the passage of the historic amendment."
Al-Madhhan concluded his statement by affirming that this decision represents "the beginning of a new era characterized by dignity, sovereignty, and development for the proud Syrian people who deserve to live in peace and prosperity."
