After the Ramot operation .. Israel declares war and threatens Palestinian prisoners

Following the armed attack that occurred this morning, Monday, north of Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site of the incident at the "Ramot neighborhood" intersection, near the bus station where the shooting took place.

During his rare visit to the site of a field operation, Netanyahu announced that Israel is "at war against terrorism," asserting that the response will be harsher than ever before.

"We are at war in Gaza, Jerusalem, and other arenas ... We will expel the families of the perpetrators, and we will take stricter measures."

He added that Israeli forces will work to arrest anyone who provided assistance or support to the perpetrators, and will pursue them "wherever they are," noting that the recent attack is not isolated, but part of a regional escalation that includes several fronts.

Netanyahu confirmed that Israel is facing what he described as a "multi-front war," including Gaza, Yemen, and Lebanon, pointing out that the factions carrying out these attacks are directly supported by Iran.

At the same time, the Prime Minister did not miss the opportunity to sharply criticize the Israeli Supreme Court, which earlier today approved his exemption from attending a hearing due to security tensions, stating that security decisions should remain in the hands of the elected government and not in courtrooms.

For his part, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir escalated his rhetoric, announcing that he would seek to widely arm Israeli citizens, saying:

"We will arm all Israelis to protect themselves."

He also issued a direct threat against Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails, asserting that the government will not improve their detention conditions, saying:

"We will not improve the conditions of prisons and detainees. The time for leniency is over."
