The quality control team of the Syrian Company for Storage and Distribution of Petroleum Products "Mahrwakat" in Latakia province has discovered a fuel station using specially designed devices to manipulate filling meters during a field inspection aimed at ensuring compliance with regulations and instructions. According to the official page of the Ministry of Energy, some station owners install these non-compliant devices to manipulate the actual quantities supplied to vehicles, leading to the theft of petroleum products during each filling operation. The Ministry emphasizes that these practices directly deepen the fuel crisis and the suffering of citizens who have endured material shortages and poor distribution for years. This inspection is part of the ongoing efforts of the Syrian Company for Storage and Distribution of Petroleum Products to combat corruption and violations, protect citizens' rights, and ensure their fair and transparent access to petroleum products. The Ministry reiterated that monitoring teams continue to conduct inspections and hold accountable all fuel stations in various provinces, and strict legal measures will be taken against anyone proven to be involved in manipulation, fraud, or unfair distribution of subsidized products.
