Washington requests Congress approval for arms sales to Israel worth nearly 6 billion dollars

Reports today indicated that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is seeking Congress approval for a military sales package to Israel valued at around 6 billion dollars, including attack helicopters and armored personnel carriers.
Sources mentioned that the proposed package includes a deal worth about 3.8 billion dollars for the purchase of 30 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters, in addition to a deal worth approximately 1.9 billion dollars to supply 3,250 armored personnel carriers for the Israeli army.
According to reports, initial notifications were sent to congressional leaders weeks ago, while the White House continues to follow up on the file to obtain the necessary approvals. Some sources indicate that the expected delivery dates for this equipment may extend for two or three years.
This move comes at a time when the region is experiencing escalating tensions, while Washington maintains extensive military support policies for Israel. Newspapers pointed out that the approval of such deals is subject to notification and parliamentary review procedures before being officially completed.
