Armed clashes broke out this evening with medium weapons in the Dahman area of Sabratha, western Libya, between local residents and an armed group known as "the Kabo," according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses indicated that the confrontations occurred within residential neighborhoods, causing a state of fear among civilians, with no confirmed information so far about casualties or material damage.
No security authorities have issued a statement clarifying the reasons for these clashes or their outcomes, while local elders have begun holding urgent meetings to contain the tension and prevent its escalation to ensure the safety of the residents.
It is worth noting that the western region occasionally witnesses armed confrontations, the latest of which occurred two days ago in the city of Janzour between the joint security force and one of the leaders affiliated with the western coastal military region.
