Volodymyr Zelensky: Russian Strikes Damage All Ukrainian Power Plants

Power Plants Under Fire
Zelensky stated at the Munich Security Conference:
"There is not a single power generation station in Ukraine that has not been damaged by Russian strikes."
He added that Ukraine sometimes manages to deliver new missiles for the Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems before an attack occurs, and sometimes at the last moment, pointing to the ongoing challenges in protecting critical infrastructure.
Peace Talks and Political Challenges
Zelensky expressed hope that the peace talks scheduled for this week in Geneva, mediated by the U.S., would be "serious and objective," but he expressed concern that Kyiv is often asked to make more concessions than Moscow.
He noted that U.S. President Donald Trump urged him to proceed with the talks, but emphasized the importance of Russia also making some concessions.
Enhancing Air Defense and Countering Drones
Zelensky called for the acceleration of the delivery of Western weapons and air defense systems, stressing that weapons are evolving faster than political efforts to resolve the conflict.
He also referred to the Iranian-designed "Shahed" drones used by Russia, describing them as becoming more lethal, and emphasized the need to "immediately counter the Iranian regime," noting Ukraine's ability to produce intercepting drones to neutralize the "Shahed" drones.
