The U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said today, Thursday, that there are promising opportunities for U.S. cooperation in developing oil and gas in Kurdistan, Iraq, despite the opposition of the federal government in Baghdad to agreements signed by American companies with the region this week.
Wright added at a conference in Washington, "I see a great opportunity for American cooperation there, as evidenced by the signing of these two agreements, and we look forward to the growth and prosperity of this commercial relationship."
