UN Official: The Situation in Gaza is Rapidly Deteriorating and Requires Urgent Intervention

Stefan Seiler, the special representative of the UN Development Programme's director in Palestine, warned on Tuesday about the severity of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, stating in remarks to Al Jazeera that the crisis requires immediate attention due to the worsening basic needs of the population.

Seiler noted that the infrastructure in the area is suffering from widespread collapse, emphasizing the urgent need for improvement and the introduction of tents and shelter materials due to the harsh conditions faced by hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals.

He added that a large number of bodies remain buried under the rubble, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster that has yet to be addressed, and underscores the need for greater international efforts to recover victims and provide urgent support to the population.
