Ukraine Negotiations: Zelensky Talks on the Phone with Trump to End the War

In a significant step towards ending the Russian war on Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, accompanied by a team of senior negotiators from both sides.
During the call, negotiator Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner were present, as announced by Zelensky on his website yesterday evening.
Zelensky thanked the United States for its role in mediation, noting that bilateral talks between Ukraine and America will be held in Geneva today, Thursday, in preparation for a comprehensive meeting with the Russian side in early March, although Moscow has not yet confirmed the date.
The Ukrainian president confirmed that this winter has been the hardest for his country due to intense Russian attacks, expressing hope for a meeting at the presidential level, which Trump has shown support for.
For its part, the White House confirmed the phone call, without initially disclosing additional details, while the world remains eager for the results of the new round of negotiations that may pave the way towards ending the conflict.
