After the State of the Union Address .. A Surge in Trump's Popularity According to CNN Poll

A recent poll conducted by CNN in collaboration with SSRS showed a significant increase in support for U.S. President Donald Trump's policies following his State of the Union address on Tuesday evening, which was described as one of the longest in this context, lasting nearly two full hours.
The poll, conducted immediately after the speech and including viewers who watched it live, revealed that 64% of participants believe Trump's policies will lead the country in the right direction, compared to only 54% before the speech, indicating a notable jump of 10 percentage points within just a few hours.
The positive momentum was not limited to policy evaluation alone but extended to the speech itself, with 64% of viewers expressing an overall positive impression, including 38% who described it as "very positive" and 25% as "somewhat positive," against 36% who expressed a negative evaluation.
The poll also showed strong support for specific themes emphasized by the president in his speech; 62% said his economic policies would lead the country in the right direction, while the same percentage supported his approach to immigration, one of the main topics of his address.
Conversely, some reservations emerged, as only 31% expressed great confidence in the administration's ability to reduce living costs, reflecting ongoing concerns about living conditions despite the overall optimism.
The pollsters noted that the sample of viewers leaned significantly towards Republicans, with a 13 percentage point difference from the general distribution of party affiliations in the United States, which may partially explain the higher levels of support compared to broader national polls that showed a greater division in public opinion.
This is Trump's first speech in his second term, focusing on what he considers the achievements of his administration in areas such as the economy, border security, and foreign policy, at a time when the political arena is anticipating the upcoming midterm elections, amidst intense debate about the country's direction in the coming years.
