Media reports revealed that Tyler Robinson, 22 years old, is the main suspect in the assassination of American right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, at Utah Valley University in Utah.
The Daily Mail reported that a young man living with Robinson, named Lance Twiggs, handed the police text messages showing Robinson discussing hiding the weapon used in the shooting.
Reports conflicted regarding the identity of the informant, with some sources suggesting that Twiggs might be a transgender partner of Robinson, while his grandfather Jerry Twiggs declined to comment on these rumors.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are still ongoing, and the official motive behind the crime has not been determined, but Utah Governor Spencer Cox described Robinson as being "saturated with leftist ideology".
Who is Tyler?
Tyler Robinson was training to become an electrician at a nearby technical college and passionately participated in video games. He was part of a chat group on Discord that included dozens of gaming friends, most of whom were from his former high school.
Lance Twiggs is also a video game player and posts clips on TikTok of shooting games like Apex Legends, Valorant, and Rocket League, in addition to comedic clips. The two lived in a three-bedroom apartment in St. George, Utah.
Initial investigations showed that Twiggs cooperated with authorities to provide evidence that led to identifying Robinson as the main suspect, while police continue to gather more information about the motives behind the crime and the relationships of the suspects.
