The Turkish representative at the Security Council, Sadat Onal, called for effective international participation in the reconstruction of Syria and supporting the lifting of sanctions during his speech at the Security Council meeting today, Friday. Onal welcomed the presence of the Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad al-Shaaban, among them, stating that the Syrian administration has achieved what many considered impossible in months. Onal added that the steps taken by the Syrian administration pave the way for a peaceful transition and national reconciliation after decades of killings. He also condemned the Israeli aggression on Syria, considering it a serious concern that violates Syria's sovereignty and threatens its stability and the region. Onal also denounced the Israeli strikes in Syria, demanding an immediate cessation and respect for the ceasefire agreement. He affirmed that Turkey is ready to cooperate with Syria in securing detention centers in the northeast of the country. These statements were made during the meeting held by the International Security Council today, Friday, to discuss the latest developments in Syria, with the participation of the Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad al-Shaaban.
