Israeli warplanes launched four consecutive airstrikes targeting the outskirts of the town of Shmastar in the Bekaa region east of Lebanon, specifically towards the town of Tariya west of Baalbek, as reported by the official Lebanese National News Agency. These strikes follow a series of other airstrikes that targeted several areas in southern Lebanon on Thursday evening and night. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the death of two individuals due to Israeli strikes and gunfire in southern Lebanon. One was killed by gunfire in the town of Kafr Kila, and the other due to an Israeli drone strike targeting a forest in Al-Taher in Upper Nabatieh. This comes amidst the latest military escalation despite a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah that began on November 27. Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that it targeted a "Hezbollah terrorist" who was rehabilitating a site used by the party to manage its firearms and defensive equipment. The army also reported attacks on several military sites in Lebanon affiliated with Hezbollah, containing missile and artillery launch pads, describing these sites as part of a "terrorist infrastructure" containing weapons. The Israeli army stated through a post on Telegram that the presence of weapons and Hezbollah activity in these areas constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. Despite this agreement, Israel continues to carry out airstrikes in southern Lebanon and its east, as well as in the southern suburbs of Beirut, while maintaining its forces in five points inside southern Lebanon. The Israeli army affirmed its right to continue targeting Hezbollah sites in Lebanon, despite the existing agreement, reflecting the ongoing tensions and escalation of military operations in the region.
