Hamas stated today, Friday, that it is holding consultations with Palestinian forces and factions regarding a proposal for a ceasefire it recently received from the mediators.

The Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that "Israel is inclined to accept the new plan, but Hamas has reservations, mainly due to the lack of commitment to end the war."

Senior Israeli officials said, "Israel will accept the plan, but it is not at all certain that Hamas will accept it."

The Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" said: "If Hamas accepts, it may be able to bring down Netanyahu's government," estimated senior officials, adding that Ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir may object, but they have no real reason to dissolve the government - as this is the original plan of the envoy Wicov.
