Trump expresses hope for a "diplomatic settlement" for Gaza and prepares to hold a mini-summit at the United Nations

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope for a diplomatic exit to the crisis between Palestinians and Israelis during his remarks to accompanying journalists on the return trip from Arizona to Washington.
Trump said, according to the Russian news agency "TASS" on Monday: "I hope and would like to see a diplomatic settlement," adding: "There is a lot of anger and hatred, as you know, and this has been going on for many years, I hope we can reach a settlement."
This statement comes in conjunction with information from informed American sources indicating that Trump intends to hold a meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly tomorrow, Tuesday, with a group of leaders to discuss ways to settle the conflict.
According to sources reported by "Axios", invitations have already been sent to leaders from Arab and Islamic countries to participate in this meeting. It clarified that the agenda will focus on discussing these countries' involvement in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip after the war, and the possibility of deploying their military forces to act as a "stabilizing force" to replace Israeli forces in the event of their withdrawal.
This meeting is being held at a time when international recognition of the State of Palestine is increasing, a step that has provoked anger from Israel, which considers it "support for Hamas and a threat to the existence of the State of Israel."
For its part, the United States commented on the recognition by its key allies, including Britain, Australia, and Canada, of the State of Palestine as "performative", emphasizing that its priority remains "the release of hostages and the security of Israel".
