Mousavi: Iran will not compromise on its national interests and will respond harshly to any new 'mistakes'

The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, confirmed that his country rejects compromising on its national interests, during the ongoing nuclear negotiations with the European troika consisting of France, Germany, and Britain.
Mousavi warned in a speech on the anniversary of the Iran-Iraq war, as reported by Tasnim News Agency today, saying: "If the enemy makes new mistakes, it will receive a harsh response that will make it regret."
These statements came at a time when Tehran is facing increasing diplomatic pressures, following the Security Council's vote last week against permanently lifting the sanctions imposed on it, and the European powers reimposing UN sanctions through a mechanism that lasted 30 days, claiming Iran's non-compliance with the 2015 nuclear agreement.
The Iranian military official recalled a 12-day war, considering that "the enemy failed during the 12-day war against the local military and defensive power, regional capabilities, and the decisive and proportional response of the Iranian armed forces," referring to the escalation with Israel last June.
Mousavi emphasized the necessity of "developing modern and advanced defensive technology, enhancing deterrent power, and preparing to face complex warfare, especially the cognitive war waged by the enemy," hinting at Israel.
He also confirmed the readiness of the armed forces "to rely on strategic surprises to confront any threat imposed by the oppressors in the world, with an immediate, decisive, and deterrent response beyond imagination."
These statements coincide with Israeli reports revealing that the "Mossad" deployed nearly 100 foreign agents inside Iran before the June war, in an operation described as "unprecedented in terms of size and complexity," aimed at _according to sources_ "targeting Iranian ballistic missile platforms and air defense systems, alongside providing direct support for Israeli airstrikes."
The European sanctions mechanism is set to reimpose a ban on arms and uranium enrichment and ballistic missile activities, as well as freeze the assets of Iranian individuals and entities around the world, unless an agreement is reached with Tehran.
