The US Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, affirmed the United States' commitment to giving the new Syrian government, led by Ahmed Shura, a full opportunity to prove itself, emphasizing that the US priority in Syria is prosperity and security, away from interfering in the form of governance.

This comes in statements to Al Arabiya channel, made by Barrack, where he said that the United States is "committed to enabling President Ahmed Shura's government to prove itself", calling for gradually lifting sanctions to allow Syria to experience economic revival.

The American envoy confirmed that the United States did not overthrow the ousted President Bashar al-Assad's regime, but it was the Syrian people who did so, while Washington is currently focusing on supporting the new government to achieve stability.
