The Truth About Cancer Outbreak in Menoufia: Results of Official Tests

The spread of rumors about a "mysterious outbreak" of cancer in the village of Drajeel in the Menoufia governorate has caused significant concern among the village's residents, who number over 24.5 thousand, especially with the deterioration of some health cases and doubts about the safety of water and agricultural crops.
In response, the Menoufia Health Directorate launched a wide early detection campaign for tumors, which included 14 thousand citizens, and 517 of them were referred for advanced tests.
The results were reassuring: only 7 cases were confirmed to have various tumors, while the rest of the results were negative, confirming that the infection rates are within the normal range.
To ensure the health of the residents and to cut off the rumors, a committee from preventive medicine and environmental health took samples from the village's water station and local markets, and tests proved that they met the standards and were safe for human use.
The authorities also took strict regulatory measures, as 26 violation reports were filed and 12 establishments were closed for failing to comply with administrative requirements.
Dr. Amr Mustafa, the Undersecretary of Health in Menoufia, confirmed that mobile medical teams continue their work to examine citizens, and that health units are operating at full capacity to ensure the safety of the residents and provide medical services, denying any "mystery" surrounding the health of the area's inhabitants.
The news clearly indicates that the concern was a result of rumors, and that the health situation in the village is under control, with ongoing efforts for early detection and environmental monitoring to ensure everyone's safety.
