The Syrian Interior Ministry Denies the Existence of a Political Security Branch and Affirms Its Commitment to the Values of the Revolution

The spokesperson for the Syrian Interior Ministry, Nour al-Din al-Baba, denied today, Thursday, the validity of what is being circulated regarding the existence of a political security branch affiliated with the ministry, affirming that this is a false rumor aimed at distorting the image and spreading fear among citizens.

Al-Baba explained that what was previously known as the "Political Security Division" affiliated with the ministry during the era of the fallen regime has been completely dissolved due to its role in suppressing the Syrian people and committing violations, noting that this decision was officially announced during the conference of the blessed Syrian revolution victory on January 29, 2025.

The spokesperson emphasized that the Interior Ministry is committed to the values of freedom, justice, and dignity, and works to protect the rights of citizens away from any repressive practices, stressing that the current phase requires strengthening trust between the state and society.
