The Syrian Interior Ministry Clarifies the Circumstances of the Death of Child Mohammed Omar Sheikh Al-Najjar in Douma

The spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Interior, Nour Al-Din Al-Baba, announced today, Monday, that the investigations conducted by the Douma Police Station regarding the death of child Mohammed Omar Sheikh Al-Najjar revealed that the incident occurred as a result of children's play that got out of control, and that the perpetrator is a 13-year-old child, with no evidence of kidnapping or intentional assault, contrary to what has been circulated through some unofficial platforms.  

Al-Baba confirmed that the security authorities continue their investigations meticulously to uncover all details and complete the legal procedures, stressing that the dissemination of inaccurate information harms the innocent and disrupts the course of justice and stirs societal confusion.  

He called for the necessity of accuracy and reliance on official sources when addressing sensitive issues, and not to be drawn into rumors that may mislead public opinion.  

In conclusion, the Ministry of Interior extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased child, asking God to envelop him in His vast mercy and to inspire his family with patience and solace.
