The Syrian Football Association has opened the door for all talents abroad to represent the Syrian national teams. The association urged Syrian expatriate players interested in representing the national teams to register via the link provided by the Football Association, in collaboration with the coaching staff responsible for scouting, monitoring, and training Syrian expatriate players. The statement also mentioned that if there are video clips of the players, they should be sent via the provided email address, along with the player's name in English. The Spanish coach, Jose Lana, announced the Syrian national team's roster for the Asian Cup qualifiers, which saw the return of both Omar Al-Somah and Omar Khribin.
