The specialized committee appointed by the Minister of Higher Education begins its tasks to amend the law regulating Syrian universities.

According to sources, the ministry has granted the committee full authority and facilities to resolve legal issues, especially since it serves as a central consultative reference.
Minister of Higher Education Marwan Al-Halabi emphasized that the 2006 university law and its executive regulations contain many loopholes that the committee can avoid by benefiting from the experiences of Idlib and Damascus universities.
During his meeting with the committee, Al-Halabi mentioned the possibility of utilizing artificial intelligence and conducting online meetings, while stressing the need to set a timeline for the meetings and produce a law that will leave a mark and provide a roadmap for future work.
As reported by the ministry, Minister Al-Halabi stated, "There is a trend within the ministry towards investing in education, as it has presented 50 investment projects to enhance its self-resources, in addition to working on compiling a glossary of societal needs."
The committee is chaired by the Deputy Minister for Educational Affairs Haitham Hassan, and its members include the President of Al-Shahbaa Aleppo University Ziad Aboud, the Secretary of the Council of Education Ali Al-Jassem, the faculty member at Damascus University Fawaz Al-Saleh, and the faculty member at Idlib University Abdul Razzaq Al-Hussein.
The committee also includes the faculty member at Sham (Azzaz) University Azaddin Al-Qaddour, the faculty member at Homs University Sabhi Al-Adli, and the faculty member at Aleppo University Ali Malham.
