The Secret of Longevity: A Scientific Study Reveals the Secrets Behind Spanish Maria Reaching 117 Years

A comprehensive scientific study has unveiled the astonishing factors that may be behind Spanish Maria Branyas Morera reaching 117 years and 168 days, earning her the title of the world's oldest person.
According to what was announced by the Russian channel "Nauka", researchers worked for a year and a half, from January 17, 2023, to August 19, 2024, analyzing the genetic makeup and lifestyle of Mrs. Branyas, collecting samples of her blood, saliva, and stool when she was 116 years old to obtain accurate data.
The results highlighted her exceptional health in terms of heart and metabolism, as her fat metabolism was "among the most efficient, with very low cholesterol levels" thanks to her balanced diet and having "special genes that help eliminate harmful substances".
Her longevity is also linked to a strict lifestyle, as Maria never smoked throughout her life or consumed alcohol, and she adhered to a "moderate diet rich in vegetables, fruits, legumes, and olive oil", consistently "having 3 meals a day of plain yogurt without sugar".
Researchers also discovered another secret in her intestines, characterized by high levels of beneficial bacteria such as "Actinobacteria" and "Bifidobacterium", which were associated with "reduced inflammation and improved overall health", as researchers believe that "consuming yogurt contributed to maintaining this beneficial microbiome".
To ensure the accuracy of the results, the research team used "genetic clocks" based on DNA methylation, revealing an astonishing surprise: her biological age was 23 years younger than her actual age, providing an additional scientific explanation for the secret of longevity enjoyed by this lady.
