Mazen Al-Salihani (born in 1979) assumed the position of Minister of Tourism in the new Syrian government, announced on Saturday, March 29, 2025, adding a new experience in the public sector to his extensive career. Al-Salihani holds high academic qualifications, with a postgraduate diploma in business administration from the Great Lakes College of Sciences and Technology in Ontario, Canada, as well as a Master of Science in Project Management from West Cliff University in California, USA. He has broad experience in both private and tourism sectors, having served as chairman and founder of a group of companies operating in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Algeria, and Syria. Al-Salihani has been involved in establishing and managing numerous major hotel and tourism projects, including Salwa Resort, Qatar Mall, Bentley Hotel, Jiwana Island, Anantara Resort, and international hotels such as Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, The Ned, and LXR. The new Minister of Tourism has contributed to the establishment of various international projects such as Astoria in the Maldives, the Water City of Al-Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia, and the Palm Bay Complex and Hotel in Syria.
